India's Track&Trace System for the Exportof Medicinal Products

On 1 April the Indian Ministry ofCommerce and Industry has supplemented a paragraph that substantiates theactual requirements and the timeline for the implementation of the Track andTrace system for the export of medicinal products. Background is the attempt ofthe Indian Ministry to make Indian exports of medicinal products and the supplychain more secure. 7 v2 p7 k+ u2 v- |4 I- o
4月1日，印度商务工业部增加了一段关于药品出口跟踪系统实施时间表和实际要求的说明。原因是印度商工部希望让印度药品出口和供应链更为安全。
$ [5 j0 X" f y3 X9 `) y5 wMedicinal products produced since 1April 2015 have to exhibit the following codes or labellings: # w- u) {& L7 R7 j* V% S

Primarypackaging: The bar codelabelling on primary packaging is exempted for the time being. But the 14digits GTIN along with batch number, expiry date and a unique serial number areto be imprinted in human readable form. ' G% A8 C0 `$ D/ F

Secondarypackaging: The secondarypackaging is supposed to present a one or two dimensional (1D or 2D) barcodeencoding containing the 14 digits GTIN along with batch number, expiry date anda unique serial number. * P; O# k; L# _

As of 1 July 2015 the Indianmanufacturers are obliged to upload these data on the central portal of theMinistry. The manufacturer is responsible for the correctness, completeness andfor ensuring timely upload of data on the central portal. Medicinal productshaving manufacturing date prior to 1 April 2015 will be exempted from thislabelling requirement. 0 U5 q9 w( a$ b3 A
